Hankook is a tyre brand that's on the rise, known for its affordable quality and commitment to innovation. Currently the world's sixth-largest tyre company, Hankook tyres have grown from humble beginnings to more than 14 000 employees in four regional headquarters, with over 20 overseas subsidiaries and five research and development centres around the world. It makes 70 percent of its revenue through overseas markets.
The company was founded in Seoul, Korea in 1941, and was originally called The Chosun Tyre Company, and was renamed Hankook in 1968. The name Hankook is an English approximation of the Korean word for "Korea".
